Natural Olive Ash with White Ash inlay, a Modern British Classic detail, infuses this contemporary soft taupe Kitchen with a warmth that evokes nostalgia and creates a cosiness in the large proportions of this extension project.

This project has an almost unique boast in that the English Ash tree it derived from once soared to heady heights, claiming it the Guinness World Record for tallest Ash tree in the world, before a storm wreaked havoc and rendered the tree too dangerous to leave standing. George, Managing Director at Modern British, heard of the news and without a second thought, bought the whole tree! As the timber dried, we awaited the perfect project to showcase the natural honey toned character from the unprecedented ratio of Olive Ash found within the trunk.
This truly is a project with a story, from the origin of the materials to the transformative spatial arrangement, the client and Modern British share the thrill and delight of the end result and the story it tells.

Personalised touches for our clients included the breakfast nook with adjoining banquette seating and coffee table, set beneath the light well.
